Cedar Crest Golf Course–Dallas

The 1927 PGA was held on this classic course designed by A.W. Tillinghast. Originally a private golf club, Cedar Crest closed down after the Great Depression saw its membership dwindle. In 1946, the Dallas Public Works Department purchased the course, renovating and expanding it. In 2004 it received a total makeover that included a new clubhouse.

Today, you’ll enjoy playing the tree-lined fairways of a course listed as a Top 50 public range by the Golf Ratings Association of America. Cedar Crest is also fun for the whole family, with family tees on the course so that everybody can take a shot.

Tournaments and Events

Cedar Crest hosts the Greater Dallas Putting Tournament, a new event now in its successful second year.

It’s also home to the Greater Dallas Amateur Championship in association with the I am a Golfer Foundation, a nonprofit organization that gives high school students, veterans and others in the community the chance to learn golf. The foundation also beautifies classic golf courses and offers internships to students who want to pursue a career in professional sports.

How’s the Course?

Most golfers are surprised to find so many hills in a Dallas course, and they especially enjoy the greenside bunkers and the flowering trees that line the fairways. Players love the tough, firm greens of our grasses, views of the Dallas skyline and the incredible value that we offer.

We get rave reviews on most review sites. Our players state that playing here is equivalent to playing at a private club, and that our course, clubhouse and instructors are among the best in Dallas. When you add all this up and consider our low course rates, it’s no wonder we have so many loyal customers.
